About us

A place for renewal, stability and dignity

Better Half of Me Behavioral Wellness is developing a structured residential program for adults in Phoenix, Arizona, designed to keep people connected to their treatment and support systems.

Guided Care. Lasting Change.

Better Half of Me Behavioral Wellness is being built on a simple belief: with the right environment, structure and support, people can steady themselves and move toward a better chapter. We are developing a residential home where adults can find safety, routine and respect while they build the daily-living skills that support lasting stability.

Our model is being designed around coordination, not isolation. Residents remain connected to their clinicians, case managers and support systems, and our team is being organized to communicate clearly and follow through. The goal is a calm, well-run home that referral partners can trust and that residents can be proud to live in.

We are preparing to open. As we complete licensing, staffing and final policies, we welcome preliminary conversations with the professionals who help people find the right placement.

How we help

What we're working toward

Everything about the home is being designed around four goals.

A safe, sober home

A calm, well-run, drug- and alcohol-free residence with 24/7 staff, where each man feels secure and respected.

Skills for independent living

Daily structure and life-skills practice (cooking, budgeting, transit, job readiness) that build lasting stability.

Connected, coordinated care

Close coordination with outpatient providers, case managers and referral partners so care never falls through the cracks.

Support toward recovery

Relapse prevention, peer support and accountability that reinforce steady progress.

What we stand for

Four commitments at the center of our care

Compassionate

Person-centered care.

Nourishing

Supporting the whole individual.

Empowering

Building skills for lasting change.

Community

Stronger together, healing together.

What we're developing

A thoughtfully designed residential program

Subject to licensing, staffing and approved policies, the program is being designed to include:

  • A recovery-oriented residential program for adults
  • Dual-diagnosis support for co-occurring mental health conditions
  • A drug- and alcohol-free, structured environment
  • Hands-on independent-living skills
  • Peer support and connection to community recovery groups
  • 24/7 staffing with medication assistance
  • Ten private bedrooms
  • Coordination with outpatient providers and referral partners

Meet our team

Experienced clinical leadership

The people building the program, and the team that will carry it out every day.

Headshot of Randall Godwin, M.Ed., LIAC, CHW

Clinical Director

Randall Godwin, M.Ed., LIAC, CHW

A Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor with more than 25 years in substance use and co-occurring treatment, Randy has served as chief operating officer of an Arizona psychiatric hospital, overseeing a $10M+ budget, and as a clinical director. Since 2014 he has been a commissioner for a national accreditation body, completing 50+ site reviews of behavioral health programs, and his audits of Arizona providers carry a record of zero deficiencies. Trained in CBT, DBT and trauma-informed care, Randy reviews every referral personally.

Headshot of Amber Hayes, MSN, AGACNP-BC

Director of Nursing

Amber Hayes, MSN, AGACNP-BC

A board-certified acute care nurse practitioner with a decade of hospital leadership, Amber has served as the lead provider for a Level 1 trauma service in Phoenix and managed overnight inpatient care for complex surgical patients. She has written clinical protocols, trained nurses and new providers, and run a post-discharge follow-up clinic, and brings that same rigor here: medication safety, health screening, close coordination with each resident's doctors, and the judgment to spot early when someone needs a higher level of care.

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs)

Trained staff on site 24/7 who guide daily routines, life-skills practice, medication assistance and safety.

Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS)

People with lived recovery experience who mentor residents and connect them to community recovery. Being built into the program as we staff up.
